What is Treatment Decision Support?

This One-to-One service helps men and trans women take control of their prostate cancer treatment decision.

Every year, over 52,000 men in the UK are diagnosed with prostate cancer. Many face life-changing decisions about their treatment choice quickly, often without enough information or support.

Nobody should face prostate cancer alone or uninformed

Make Sense of It, is a pilot project that puts people who have just been diagnosed with prostate cancer, back in the driver’s seat and helps them feel confident and informed when choosing what prostate cancer treatment to have.

This One-to-One service, matches the individual diagnosed with a trained Treatment Decision Buddy who has lived experience of prostate cancer. The Buddy will listen, and share information non-directively, to help individuals make an informed decision about what treatment to have; and ultimately give the individual the confidence to decide which treatment is best for them.

Support is free, confidential, and tailored to each individual

If you fall outside of these groups but still need treatment decision support, please still get in touch. We still might be able to help.
