Having been diagnosed and treated for prostate cancer in 2018 (T3a, Gleason 9, M0, N0, RALP – if you wanted to know, I always do 😊), I have been supported in my journey by Out with Prostate Cancer, a peer support group aimed at but not exclusively for LGBTQ+ people, I ended up being one of the people who run the group.
I’ve seen the need for support groups themselves to be supported, so I decided to step up and join the Tackle board.
I hope that my work experience in finance, business and IT strategy, governance (including GDPR), and my voluntary experience as Chair of Directors of a community benefit charity from start-up to turnover of over £180k and managing grants in excess of £1.8m will be useful to the board, and I look forward to being part of its future.
